Beta Cycle: Focus T25 Dynamic Core

For the Focus T25 Dynamic Core video workout you will need a just yoga mat. This workout video’s warm up is pretty simple. You will start with a few simple lunges to loosen up the legs. Then you will get into some kicks to shake everything out. And finnally end it with jabs, these will help loosen up the arms. This warm up takes 8:00 minutes so each of the exercise previously mentioned will take about 3:00 minutes each.

Now 22:10 minutes left and Shaun T takes you through 2 different “T” twist Ab exercises. I find these really relaxing compared to what is coming next in the workout. After that you will go through more kicks, but these will be a little more complex than ones that you did in the warm up.

Once you get to the 19:30 minute point you will be getting into some serious core exercises. They start with sprints/tabletops, Shaun T tends to group things together so you repeat them a couple times before moving on. Then you go into crisscrosses/half-tuck jump, shuffles/sprint kick. Finally you will give your abs a quick break by doing squats.

Now with 15:15 left you will have to get on the ground, this is what the yoga is meant for. On the ground you will be doing some Ab exercises like straight leg scissors, torso lift, seated knee crossover, etc.. Even though your only half way your abs will be burning.

Counting down from a little less than 10:00 minutes you will be doing more ground Ab exercises. However these ones are different from the ones you did previously. These exercises are mostly all planks, 10 different variations of planks to be exact. None of the plank exercises work the same two muscles, but all different ones. So get ready.

Along with the planks you will be doing pikes, the Rocketman and the Superman. Now with 1:00 minute left all you have to do are plank walks and the squat pyramid. Then you can finally start your cool down.

Her is a quick overview of what exercises where done in this workout:

  • Warm Up: Lunges, Kicks, Jabs
  • “T” twists
  • Kicks
  • Sprints/Tabletop
  • Crisscross/Half-Tuck Jump
  • Shuffles/Spring Kick
  • Squats
  • Ab exercises: Straight Leg Scissors, Torso Lift, Seated Knee Crossover, etc.
  • 10 variations of Planks
  • Rocketman
  • Superman
  • Plank Walks
  • Squat Pyramid
  • Cool Down

Here is the quick reminder of the equipment you will be needing for the Focus T25 Dynamic Core video:

  • Yoga Mat: The only piece of equipment you will be needing is a mat. The yoga mat is so that you don’t hurt your back with the hard uncomfortable floor while you do a few core exercises. I also find the mat really helpful for keeping my feet sturdy. When you sweat the ground will get wet and your shoes start to slip, which makes working out a lot harder. This mat also protects your ground from that sweat getting stuck in there for weeks and start to make your house smell bad.
